TurboTax Kicks Off its 2020 Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration

Hispanic Heritage Month will be here! TurboTax is thrilled to combine the celebration by emphasizing and recognizing the contributions of Hispanics in your own local communities. Throughout September 15th on October 18th, TurboTax is looking to financially empower Latino self-employed and small companies affected by COVID-19 by means of a partnership with the Hispanic Chamber of commerce (HISCEC) and the launching of Unidos4LatinoBiz, a societal effort that may spotlight small business owners and give back to the community.

The challenges caused this past year as a result of COVID-19 have not left any community untouched. However, Hispanic-owned tiny enterprises and self-employed communities have been disproportionately impacted by this pandemic given that Latino-owned organizations employ over 3 million people (source: State of Latino Entrepreneurship Initiative). The venture with HISCEC provides its members with the education and tools to be more successful and compete effectively on the market as they pivot their services and offerings as a consequence of the crisis. The partnership comprises:

  • Virtual learnings conducted by credentialed taxation and reserving experts to provide them with key and relevant information for their businesses

  • Educational custom content to navigate COVID-19 implications

  • Free TurboTax Live Self Employed product Therefore that they can file their tax year 20 20 Self Employed taxes for free with the Assistance of credentialed tax experts

  • Reviews to Intuit online products, such as QuickBooks

Additionally, TurboTax login is inviting communities to honor their favorite Latino-owned company or Latino entrepreneur as part of their Unidos4LatinoBiz effort. Beginning September 21st, TurboTax encourages the public to nominate their community favorite Latino-owned businesses and/or self-employed individuals who have decided within their area during the pandemic. To participate, consumers must share on Twitter or Instagram why they believe their nominee is deserving of the money prize. Once weekly, for four weeks, TurboTax will be giving out $5,000 to a lucky small business proprietor to encourage their ongoing efforts and $500 for anyone who made the nomination.

TurboTax is proud to be equipped to observe Latinos during Hispanic Heritage Month and encourage individuals deserving organizations that positively impact their communities every day.
